Neon Lights Are Everywhere
"Mare Street, E8" by, Digital Club was posted back in April '08. just wanted to post this video because it's so cool. very Daft Punk-esque. music is done by them as well. you can view and download a higher quality version here.
still think this was all animated in after effects. i know a few people who think different. if not, it can definitely be done in AE.
a company called Like Minded Studio did this piece. it says it was uploaded November '08. pretty similar, also cool.
they also animated it. uploaded much later.

Coding is Cool = <"again">
ok, i was getting sick of Processing and all that animating with numbers stuff. but Erik Natzke has made it interesting again for me. but instead of doing videos, he makes fine art. he's found a great way to blend art and technology, and the results are great.
Erik's got a bunch of videos on his vimeo site. he also has a quick and simple demonstration on coding on his blog entitled, "Flash Code 101". also if you are in the Toronto area, check out his solo exhibit, "Colors of Nature" at Function13. he also has an online journal. where does he find the time?

Who Needs Paint When You Can Paint With Melted Glass
Etsuko Ichikawa takes molten glass and rides it along paper. the results are pretty cool. i think i can do this. cut to me in the hospital with 3rd degree burns. looks like shes got some interns spraying water on the paper before they burn the place down.
anyways, i think her exhibit at the Bellevue Arts Museum is probably over. looks like a cool space.

Funniness in the Creepiness
so i stumbled upon this behind the scene spoof about the future of films and the emotional drive of the actors, "CGI-Brows". it was pretty funny. pretty creepy as well. but i loved it and saw the rest of their stuff. pretty good. simple, short, creepy, dark, hilarious, and weird. the one called "Janine" was probably the creepiest one, but still funny. the last shot was pretty rough.
i went to their site, Rocket Sausage, and the open to the site was hilarious. they also have a blog. can't wait to see more from these guys.

InspiresMe : Banksy
back in march, the Scotsman had an article of the 9 best guerrilla artists over the years. my favorite of them all being Banksy, made the list of course.
his political and social satire is unmatched in my eyes. every time i see something new from this guy, it amazes me how simple but profound his images can be. usually the dramatic environment adds to the effect.
but it must be weird being so famous and not be able to tell anyone except your lawyer(s), and maybe your significant other(s). (s)he obviously isn't in it for the fame. it's always hard to find people you can trust anyways. i wonder if (s)he is planning on telling the world when (s)he is on his or her deathbed. that would be sad and pretty cool at the same time.

InspiresMe : Jean-Baptiste Mondino
these photographs, Femininity (Un)Veiled by Jean-Baptiste Mondino are pretty cool. they look like female assassin ninjas.
it feels the only way for these women to express there individualism is to accessorize.
you can read an article about it here, translated from french.
i've also came across this guerrilla artist by the name, Princess Hijab. similar but with an interesting contrast.

Circle of Lunch
did this one for fun. had a basic idea of creatures eating each other in a cycle. so in the end, the one on top of the food chain is ultimately eating its own poo. like my dog Rambo. he needs to stop that shit. pun intended.

Preliminary Sketches for a Nick job
Did these a while back for a Nick job that was later scrapped. Some of the characters were made into 3D models and were used for the "Lemon Drop Kiss" video. Also the dude with the tongue and hands was made into a tee. Should take a photo of it.

First ever blog post
So I had done this piece for a contest Danger was holding through myspace. Didn't win but it was fun to do. Shout out to the very talented nook for getting me back into drawing again.
